Description
These are some of the strangest and most beautiful fossils we’ve ever excavated. You will not find these unique and beautiful fossils anywhere else!: We discovered this tiny site only a few few years ago and what a surprise it was!. These are colonies of algae that have become agatized with a variety of textures and colors. There’s nothing like it! The original algal groups formed elliptical and spherical nodules in a shallow sea during Jurassic time. Accumulating layers buried the original forms, which dissolved away, leaving a cavity in the sediments that was subsequently filled with agate.
NOTE: A flattened sphere with nice bubbly agate skin.
